This book safe is pretty cool. Def nothing fancy because as soon as you pick it up you know it ain't a real book! lol Lock works well (3 digit combo) and there is enough space inside for some cash and other items. It'll keep honest people honest, but I am sure it's easy to break into.Perfect exactly what I was looking for!Can’t tell it’s not a regular book from the look of book shelf!This is a nice option for keeping things hidden. It has a simple 3 digit combination lock. The cover looks, feels and basically is a real book cover. The 3 sides that would be the page edges are a matte plastic that resembles pages. Inside the front cover is where you will find the metal safe lid and lock. I already keep a real thesaurus on my book self so having a false dictionary on the self next to it appears completely normal. Looking at my book shelf you would not suspect anything amiss about the books. Now if someone picks this up, it's a dead giveaway especially if you have anything that might rattle or clunk when it's moved. But Obviously the point here is diversion. I think it accomplishes that quick well.Truth is… wherever you are- everyone needs a safe and secure place to put important/vital items and moving into a college dorm is no exception. Even with trust between roommates.. there are always extra’s that come along in/out, suitemates passing via the bathroom, friends of friends, etc. Lets face it- when living in a dorm.. most likely your social space is also your private space.. This “lock book” offers a small and solid solution to keeping items safe and giving you peace of mind while you’re not there..I mention above scenario specifically bc, it actually happened to us.. ugh!! Etc.. whichever items you have of importance can be kept together and out of a place they could easily be grabbed by a stranger. Albeit yes, items must be sized to that of the book that is holding the safe.. but, to give you an idea the listed items above- all fit into our safe at one time.
