This is the third one I have purchased, and the other two are still in use (purchased in 2013 and 2014). I use them for markets and shows. I like the four slots for bills in the removable tray to keep the denominations separate and organized when you need to make change quickly. But there is still room under the tray for large bills or extra cash. But the plastic on the rim of the tray breaks off easily and can make it tricky to remove and replace quickly until you find the sweet spot or use a little bees wax around the edge to make it not so sticky. My wife and I have a small business and most of it is in cash and that is in small bills. We purchased the cash box primarily to keep the bills orgainized and to place checks, large bills and business cards below the black plastic bill holder. The main negative points are: 1. The box must be locked inorder to pick it up by the handle located on the lid. If you move the box around a lot, like we do during shows, it is very inconvienient to be constantly locking and unlocking the box, especially during busy times. It requires that the key be left in the box to lock it and unlock it. (Currently the key is broken off in the lock... fortunately it was unlocked at the time.) 2. The bill tray has notches in the top. When the box lid is opened, the coin tray is lifted and the base of it slides into the notches. This keeps the box open, as shown in the picture. This is fine if you leave the box open all of the time. In our situation that would be a mistake. In order to close the box you simply lift up on the bottom of the coin tray and close the lid. To do this without the lid coming down hard, requires two hands. A minor inconvienience but one that I found to be increasingly annoying when I just wanted to open the box, make change, and then with change in hand, close the lid. I would prefer that the coin tray be removed, and if I were to keep this box, I would either remove it or fill in the notches of the bill tray so the box would close easily. This box had the features I was looking for - 4 slots for bills, places for coins, space underneath to store extra bills, etc. and a lock. I used to have a box that had slots in the lid with spring holders, but the bills were always sliding out. This eliminates that problem. The only issue I have is that the boxes seem inconsistent. I had to order this one twice because the first one the lock was a little sticky, and we use it 10 or 20 times a day and I didn't want to have to jiggle the lock each time. But Amazon is so great about returns, that was easy, and the next one I got works great.Bought this cash box partly for the container and partly for the coin counter. The cash box works pretty well and the bill drawer works well though the corners are rounded (a minor complaint since you're less likely to poke yourself but affects how you place the cash in the end slots). The coin counter I was also interested in since its more bang for the buck than buying the counter alone. Unfortunately the coin counter isn't as good as the First off, it's tough to find much for combination cash boxes. Too many ppl in the office that need to access it to have a keyed box.Got it this morning, box is about te same as my last, but the quality of the springs on the bill holders is much better. They are going to hold large amounts of bills much better than my last, and hopefully the springs don't go to hell like my last one.Time will tell, but first impression is great so far.I am a treasurer for a PTA and I got this for outdoor events, which we frequently do at our school. The lock is similar to another cash box I have, and it's just as useless. The box came unlocked as a volunteer was carrying it. This was definitely locked when she picked it up and began carrying it. On a windy day, the money blew all over. The lock easily jostles and unlocks. You cannot carry it by the handle, only holding it from the bottom or placing it inside a bag. Now, when you place it inside a bag, you'll find it doesn't fit well into the bottom of a bag. Another bad design idea, but it's not just this box that has this problem. I think we need a woman to design these boxes. Now comes the really fun part. When you have any coins in the box: The coins slide all over the box, and, when you go to open the box, TA DA! The coins have vanished behind the coin slots. Neat trick. It's a defective design. So sad cuz it looked so perfect to keep the money from flying away in the wind (a constant issue). Gonna go back to placing a rock in each tray and keep the old box, I guess. Sheesh. I am still on the lookout for a decent cashbox under $50. Wish me luck.I have been using the cash box for a couple of months now, and find its flexibility to be very usefull. No more keeping coins in plastic bags. Cash box is not quite deep enough to keep a full book of cash receipts inside, otherwise its perfect. The pan was actually what I needed, the size and inner tray, however the inner tray is of very cheap material. I ordered two and both of the inner trays were broken in more than one place. Its a pity that the pan itself is very sturdy but the trays are so poor. The actual layout of the tray is ideal with 4 slots for bills and some for coins. I am so disappointed and will not recommend unless you really don't need the inner tray.
