Giving it a 4, but be careful, gun owners. I am very happy with this box, considering what it is. Will this stop a smash-n-grab (recently a victim), yes. Will it stop a serious burglar with some time? No. You will need bolt cutters or a good pair of lineman's pliers and some time to make off with it, and you will need time and tools to open it. I debated giving this a 3, but since dimensions were listed, I decided to take the blame for not checking further into it. For anyone looking to secure a firearm, please read:I read the answer to one question (buyer beware, check for yourself), which said it would fit a 1911, said,"Yoo hoo", and ordered. Unless this person has a "compact 1911", he hasn't tried it. This is NOT meant for full frame sized handguns. Glock 22 will not fit. Full frame 3" .357 will not fit. (3" barrel)The dimensions of this box were not designed with a gun owner in mind. It will just barely fit a compact Glock, but has room to stack a sub-compact on top of a compact. (See photos) Ruger's SP101 snubbie fits okay, but not with a ton of room. The box is tall. Fits under my pickup seat fine, (Silverado and Tundra both), but too tall to fit under wife's Camry seat without a shoehorn, and the seat all the way jacked up. Would be much more practical to make it flatter with a bit bigger footprint.I think the box is high quality, convenient to use, but probably not the best option for handguns.Hope this helps.
