I looked up a few videos on YouTube just to make sure I set the lock right. It's pretty easy.I literally love this box. I got it from my sister because she stays on the military base and she’s unable to transport certain goods on her off base. I asked her what happened open she finally used it and she said that they gl d that the book really quickly and then continue going on about the search and visit her go. There is a gaps on both sides, anyone can easily just bend it and take anything from inside. It’s like a showpiece, can’t hide anything!!Ich besitze diesen Buchsafe bereits von einem anderen Hersteller in anderer Farbe und habe damit seit Jahren keine Probleme. Nun habe ich farblich mein Wohnzimmer verändert und auch den Buchsafe mit und hier wurde ich enttäuscht. Er liegt an der selber Stelle, wie sein Vorgänger (auf dem Wohnzimmertisch) nach wenigen Wochen Nutzung hat sich der Deckel stark nach oben gewellt. Der Safe ist so nicht mehr brauchbar, es sieht erstens nicht schön aus und zweitens sieht man das Zahlensxhloss, da der Deckel so stark hochwellt.As a diversion from thieves, it's Ok. Contrary to the seller's claim "This strong and compact steel safe is ideal for safely storing money", it is not built strong at all; and I most certainly would not store a firearm in it for purpose of hiding it from kids.If you’re looking for a real strongbox this isn’t it. It looks like a book at a glance but a close inspection quickly reveals what it is. And while the lock is good it wouldn’t take much to bend the opening and get to what’s inside. I highly doubt it would survive a fire.For my purposes, however, this thing is perfect. I keep my medication there. The kids don’t bother to look at some book upon a shelf and if they did they would have to bend the top, causing permanent and noticeable damage, in order to get anything out.
